The third novel in the Bat Blood series should be released sometime this summer (2022). It is currently 93,000 words (or 320+ manuscript pages) in length.
I have completed my personal challenge.
Despite having a hectic workload and coming down sick with the flu, I still completed a novel within the two month period that I had first set out.
Despite the speed that it was done in, I found it very rewarding, worthwhile and enjoyable, and I hope my readers will to.
It should be available in early April through most online services, in ebook, plus soft and hard cover.
I know that I spent last year finishing 'The Gilded Harvest', plus reworking, editing and republishing both 'Bat Blood - The Devil's Claw' and 'Bat Blood-Unshackled Demons'. I did not have much time left over to write anything new. This year I thought I would turn things around. To do that I challenged myself to a write a novel in two month. That was six weeks ago, and guess what? I have finally finished my first draft of 'Author'.
Blackett Hill, a small community with no children wasn't on any map. When a best selling author goes there for an unwelcomed book signing and is killed, its unusual residents are more than just alarmed. They are frightened.
As Detective Douglas, a surly, stubborn police officer, investigates the murder, he finds the town's doctor blocking his every move. When the entire town shuns him, his capable assistant Sgt. Ryan is caught in the middle.
With no murder weapon and too many suspects, the officers have to resort to unusual tactics to unravel what they believe maybe the truth. But nothing is what it seems, and karma has its own ideas.
'Author', is a murder mystery with more than just a twist. When even the murder weapon can not be identified, the police need to dive into some unusual aspects of the publishing industry. As the detective focusses on Roger Blackett, the man that owns the property that the town is built on, more than just the gloves are removed.
The Ebook is already on Amazon and on the other Ebook platforms shortly. The soft and hard covers should be available in one or two weeks. If order quickly it still should arrive by Christmas.
**** I am proud to announce that in the fall of 2017, the University of Prince Edward Island has selected my first book 'Bat blood - The Devil's Claw' to use in their 'Creative Writing Masters Class'. ****
The first draft of 'The Gilded Harvest' is finally done. It now stands at 107,000 words. Now for the gruelling task of editing it. I am still hoping to have it edited and published this year. Hopefully by late summer.
I am now up to 102,000 words. It is over the hundred thousand that I was aiming for, but it is what it is. A few thousand more words and the first draft will be finished. I am still hoping to have it edited and publish sometime this summer.
88,000 words ( 280 pages ) completed and almost finish the first draft. With cannibalism being the norm in my third novel, it is bloodier and more twisted than my first two novels.
Writers write because they have stories in them that they have to get out. It is not easy and can be hard and sometimes torturous work, but see your words in print makes it worth whiled.
